In the small village of Sandy, a young boy named Miles had always been fascinated by stories of adventure and heroism. He longed to be like the heroes in the stories he had read, and dreamed of going on his own epic quests.
One day, Miles got his chance to prove himself when a goblin was spotted lurking in the woods on the outskirts of the village. The goblin had been stealing crops and terrorizing the villagers, and the town elders had offered a reward to anyone brave enough to take care of the menace.
Determined to prove himself, Miles set out into the woods armed with nothing but a wooden stick. He had no idea what he was up against, but he was determined to rid his village of the goblin once and for all.
After a few hours of wandering through the dense forest, Miles came across the goblin chewing on the legbone of an ox. Miles approached the creature, his heart thumping in his chest. This was his moment.
He cleared his throat, "You there!" He called out with far less courage in his voice than he'd hoped.
The goblin stopped its loud gnawing and turned to face Miles. In a flash, the goblin
tossed aside the leg bone and charged! It was small and wiry, but incredibly fast and agile. Jack tried to fight the goblin, but he was no match for its speed and strength. In no time at all, Jack was lying on the ground, bruised and battered, with the goblin standing over him, ready to deliver the final blow.
But Miles was not one to give up easily. As the goblin raised its weapon to strike, Jack rolled out of the way and scrambled to his feet. With the goblin snarling behind him he fled with all haste! He knew he needed to find a better weapon if he was going to stand a chance against the goblin.
Desperate for a solution, Miles remembered the old armory in the village. He approached and read the sign "Level 1 Armory," Miles said aloud. "What a strange name."
Although he was skeptical, Miles had heard stories of powerful weapons and armor sold there. He knew that if he could find the right weapon, he might be able to defeat the goblin.
So Miles cautiously stepped inside, his heart pounding with excitement and fear.
Inside the armory, Miles found shelves lined with weapons of all shapes and sizes. He knew he had to choose wisely, so he spent hours examining each weapon, trying to find the one that felt right in his hands.
Finally, he came across a wooden sword. It was simple, but it felt sturdy and reliable. He knew it wasn't the most impressive weapon in the armory, but it was the one that spoke to him the most. As he held it aloft, he thought he could hear whispers coming from the sword.
With his new weapon in hand, Miles returned to the woods to face the goblin once again. This time, he was determined to win. It would be his life or the goblin's.
As Miles entered the woods, he was surprised to see the goblin standing not far off. A jacked steel blade in hand. Miles felt sick at the sight of the blood stained weapon. Suddenly, his wood sword did not seem as suited to this task. As if the goblin could smell his fear, a wicked smile creased its toothy maw.
It attacked!
But this time, Jack was ready. He dodged and weaved, striking back with his wooden sword. At first, the goblin seemed surprised by Miles's newfound strength, but it quickly regained its composure and fought back with all its might.
The battle raged on for what felt like hours although only minutes had passed. Miles and the goblin were evenly matched, both determined to emerge victorious. But finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Miles landed a decisive blow across the goblin's brow. The sword connected with a resounding CRACK!
The goblin fell to the ground, defeated. Miles stood over it, breathing heavily, his wooden sword held high in triumph. He had done it - he had defeated the goblin and proven himself to be a true hero.
As he made his way back to the village, Miles couldn't help but feel proud of himself. He had faced his fears and emerged victorious. He knew that there would be more challenges ahead, but he felt confident that he could face them head-on, armed with a new wood sword along with his courage and determination.
Love the story! Good for Miles!
